Registrations for Membrance®, Live Forever Digitally® and I Am Forever® protect the brand ahead of the public release of its mobile application.
All three trademarks are registered for downloadable mobile applications for video, the core of the company’s planned products. All of the registrations are owned by Membrance Inc.
An additional registration for I Am Forever (Reg. No. 8283246), issued today, extends protection of the mark to an additional class of services.
“The messages people record with Membrance may not be opened for many years, so the name on them needs to be one families can trust,” a Membrance spokesperson said. “Securing these registrations helps protect that trust before our mobile applicartion reaches the general public.”
The Membrance app is designed to let people record, encrypt and schedule video messages that are delivered to loved ones after they have passed away, such as a birthday message for a future grandchild. Users designate trusted friends or family members as Digital Executors, who confirm that the user has passed away so that messages can be released.
The app will be free to use, with no credit card required, offering individuals one free video message, with additional messages available for in-app purchase. The platform is hosted on Amazon Web Services (AWS) and uses multi-factor authentication and AES-256 encryption. AI voice and video interactions are in development.
